Cryptocurrency adoption surged globally in 2025, with India and the United States emerging as dominant players. TRM Labs' latest report highlights South Asia as the fastest-growing region, while the U.S. solidified its position as the largest crypto market by transaction volume. India retained its top spot in adoption for the third consecutive year, followed by the U.S., Pakistan, the Philippines, and Brazil.

South Asia's crypto activity skyrocketed by 80% compared to 2024, reaching approximately $300 billion in transaction volume. Meanwhile, U.S. crypto transactions grew by 50%, exceeding $1 trillion, bolstered by regulatory advancements like the GENIUS Act and the White House's 180-Day Digital Assets Report.

Stablecoins played a pivotal role in this expansion, accounting for 30% of all crypto transaction volume. By August 2025, stablecoin transactions hit a record $4 trillion, marking an 83% year-over-year increase. Tether and Circle continue to dominate the stablecoin market, collectively representing 93% of total capitalization.
